[ It would make her a lot more experienced than the others back home, at the very least. ]
I foresee the possibility that this world is linked to ours. Perhaps a time of cultural flowhad happened, that the humans here in Enprise did not arise from this plane but came from elsewhere. These things in common would have come from that migration.
[ It's not that different from what happened with Orbis Eden, really. All gods know that humanity was not born on the disc. ]
I have not. They are not common to my world.
[ He mirrors how she does it, each movement slower but precise to the millimetre. Then he pops it into his mouth, chewing thoughtfully.
It feels rather strange to experience it with something not his hands, but it's a curious sensation nevertheless. There's a pause here while he reconfigures his internal structure to be capable of swallowing.
Then, magic may be an aspect of this world, not the people who came to it. In my land, this was the case. Magic use was only developed after humans settled down.
[ He hasn't said this to anyone else, but he trusts Maki enough to tell her. ]
The flavours blend together quite nicely. I notice that the jam is slightly different from the ones sold in Capablanca, but that is explained easily by different localities.
[ IS THIS WHAT HE ACTUALLY PAYS ATTENTION TO.... ]
[ Because Maki is pretty sure Earth has been settled by humans for a long... long time.
But this, this is almost more interesting. Watching him eat, listening to the way he describes the flavor. He's just so much like... an awkward dad that Maki finds herself giggling to herself. Just one or two at first, then suddenly she's covering her mouth with her hand, trying to hide it as it gets a little worse before it gets better. ]
[ There's a short pause here, as he thinks. It's not something in his active memory. ]
I would say about a hundred years or so. It did not develop at the snap of a finger. Instead, it is a process over time.
[ It can't be helped that he's so serious - when she laughs, he doesn't quite move, merely observing how she's laughing. He doesn't seem to be angry, though. ]
[ A serious person being so serious about his scone is just funny to Maki! She doesn't even know why she's laughing though, it just happens. That's how it works sometimes. ]
A little. [ She admits, covering her mouth politely with her hand. ] N-Not in a bad way though.
[ No, he could definitely stand to loosen up a little. Not something she'd probably say to her father but hey, they are a little more equal than her and her dad. ]
I guess it's like... a King who doesn't understand how commoner's live?
[ He sets down the scone that he had been buttering, letting his gaze settle on a spot about three inches to her left for a few seconds. ]
Not in that specific fashion, no. I am a person who does not express emotions easily. I find things intriguing, I can appreciate wordplay and jokes, but I do not laugh.
[ She can be thankful for that at least. Though it only leaves her feelings still jumbled up inside, a tangle of threads that will need some tending to... even if she keeps putting it off. ]
I-I know that!
[ Oops, she said that too quickly. So she adds, quietly as she looks down. ]
[ There will be a point where he will consider intervening, but he would prefer to leave it to Maki for now. It's not that serious. ]
No need to thank me. I wish to help you.
[ They've probably gone through this part of the conversation a few times before. He has started to see Maki as a student of sorts, even more so since he did not have the opportunity to watch over particular individuals before he came here. ]

Of course, he doesn't talk with his mouth full. ]
Quite... interesting, I think.

But there's something here that we don't have at all. Magic. You can't just cast spells where I'm from.
[ Yes, he already knows that. But she feels like bringing it up AGAIN. ]
How's it taste?

Date: 2016-06-26 05:47 am (UTC)I see. I have been told that I should perhaps lighten up a little. But jokes have not been my forte.
[ Can Maki imagine him making jokes? ]
I am glad you do not find it too distant. I have not been able to speak to humans like this, one-on-one, without status. Not in my own wolrd.

Date: 2016-06-29 07:38 am (UTC)I would not say that I do not understand. I understand, but I do not necessarily empathize, that would be it.

It is something I wish to learn as well.

Date: 2016-07-06 02:52 am (UTC)Not in the perfect sense. I can be killed, now, but I do not age. As long as I preserve myself, I will endure.
[ But that's hardly the point now. ]
There is possibility for change, however. I merely do not see it as an immediate change. Acquiring emotions of that intensity will take time.

[ She answers as she starts to pick up her coffee only to have that question asked of her. To which she handles it gracefully and maturely.
...Not really. Instead she stiffens up visibly, an embarrassing image forming in her head, and she nearly spills her coffee everywhere thanks to it. ]
E-Eh?? Me?!

Date: 2016-07-08 10:29 am (UTC)Yes, you. I will not judge.
