[IT'S ALWAYS TIME FOR A VACATION, MAKI. Especially during this time, and a bit after the battles. Vietnam feels it's always best to recover. Why not with an occasion that involves giving thanks!]
Maki,
I find the change in season just a little bit surprising! But the weather moves so mildly, I do not mind. What of yourself?
And I thought it would be a nice idea to share a custom I have during one that this world has! It seems to be quite nice. And do not worry about timing, you can cash in that pass any time. I would be glad to see you.
Azuki is red bean, no? I have tried it once when I visited my brother! It was quite delicious. I am very happy that you enjoyed this lotus filled one! It is my favourite.
[ But vacationing when she should be studying and practicing? Although, wouldn't she get so much more done if she wasn't distracted here at the Hall?
As always though, Maki is glad to see more letters in her inbox. ]
Dear Vietnam-san,
I'm always glad when Autumn comes in, it's my favorite time of the year after all. The tomatoes planted in summer finally ripen, the leaves change color, and it's the perfect time to listen to music by Johannes Brahms. Is there a season you like best?
That's right! I wish I could bring you some from my friend's family traditional Japanese shop, they really are the best there! But if I find anything similar here I'll make sure to send you some. And I really did enjoy the lotus! I'd love to have them again.
[Shhh...sometimes she can have a break! Study is better after a break!]
Maki,
Oh! I would like to see how Autumn is, with the leaves especially. I visited Japan once to see the red leaves! It was so mesmerizing...perhaps next time I will listen to Johannes Brahms too. My season...I think it would be summer. It is the one I am most used to, and always a good season to go visit the ocean.
What kind of sweets did your friend's shop have? Perhaps one day we will visit the markets to find anything similar here! I can attempt to recreate some too. I also have more lotus filled mooncakes, if you like some more!
There's nothing like going to the beach in the summer, is there? I used to just go to my family's villa on the beach every summer growing up but I never enjoyed it so much until I had friends to go with me. Now I can't wait to go every year. I hope you do listen to Brahms when we make it home, I know you'll enjoy how well his pieces go with the season!
Honoka's family's shop has Traditional sweets mostly. Like manjuu and mochi. It wasn't a normal morning at school that she didn't have a piece of toast out of her mouth as she came late to school.
I'd love some! But I try not to eat too much sweets myself... I don't want to gain weight. If you ever need a friend to go shopping with in a new city you can always call me, I'd love to go with you!
[Vietnam gets that kind of upbringing...but she also knows it doesn't always work!]
Maki,
Goodness, that really sounds like the way to go on vacation! I have been lucky to be blessed colleagues who are my close friends as well. Like Seychelles, she is always the gracious hostess. I will do just that when I get home! I wonder what the equivalent to Brahms would be here?
Ah! I believe my brother likes those type of healthy girls too. Those who are always eating good food, including toast and sweets.
We can exercise together too, it would help with training, no? And let's do that! I like to go shopping, but I probably am not as, how do they say, fashionably in with the times. You look very stylish all the time, I should ask you for advice.
Is it? I always thought it was normal. We went on three vacations or so outside the country every year, and then summers in the villa. And sometimes in the winter we'd go to the cabin in the mountains.
I know a few composers here who seem to follow the same kind of classical traditions from back home, I'd love to show you.
Well, it's only natural that I know what to wear, I've always just had a way with fashion. Not everyone has the sense of style I do. But I mean, if you wanted my advice, I wouldn't mind helping! It's only natural to help a friend, right?
I think I'll set a date to come out to visit you soon too.

I'd very much like to hear them, it would be a reminder of home too.
Would it be okay for you to teach me? You are an idol, so that also means you are the pinnacle of fashion...I really would like to learn.
I'm looking forward to it!

The next time we see each other let's plan to go out shopping then. I'm sure we're both busy, but I know I'd be happy to make time to spend together.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
